Read has always had an affiliation with the elements and nature in her works. Her primary collection 'Prosperity' features bold depictions of koi with fluid lines and an abundant use of light and depth.  The use of light is particularly strong, making use within the artwork but most profoundly with external light play, both natural and environmental.

 

'Prosperity' has gone from strength to strength, particularly in the last three years internationally with single pieces recently sold for $38,500 for an original and a client wait list for commission work both for the corporate and domestic markets well into 2009.

 

Katrina Read is represented by a selection of Australia's leading galleries, and one in Singapore.  Her work has been exhibited by invitation in Canada to the World Presidents Organization, the United States in New York, the Carribean, and Australia.  Her work has been exported to collectors from a broad international base and demand for her work is seeing her rapid growth in South East Asia. 

 

In the past three years, her work has appreciated in value by over one hundred percent each year.

 

'Prosperity' has been featured in 'The Artist Palette Magazine', Issue 43 with an eight page article. Her work has also been featured in 'Queensland Homes', 'Art Gallery Guide' and 'Ish' Singapore. 

 

Read has also diversified her collection with 'Raw' the new abstract art collection for 2008/2009.
